James told us not to be like Pani and keep a blog.
I will:
* Reflect on each lesson
* Make 12 posts across the semester
* Include mp3, images, sound files etc
* Do extra research
* Communicate with other professionals online
* Include a selfie of every lesson
"Look out its a trap!" - me learning to use Soundtrap (which as it turns out, is different to SoundCLOUD)
I can now:
Add loops and layers different stems* on Soundtrap
* NEW WORD! a stem is a layer or component of a song.
Make electronic music
Be critical with what I like and don't like in certain stems when they are previewed (it all used to sound the same)
Make a group for you to submit to the class. You can create a sharable link that is able to be opened and edited for an assignment. It will be submitted by students and you can see it in a folder on your computer so you can mark their work (woohoo)
Create your own loops if you want to record something and edit it. Just create a bunch of loops for kids to use for assessments etc.

Application in the classroom
Students in the classroom can learn about texture, electronic music making, tempo, key and general composing strategies all in one go
Students can critically analyse the music they are making and make musical decisions
Allows you to create templates for assessments so the project is modelled for students
What the heck is a MIDI?
A computer language about notes. Data and information that codes for how the note should be played (start, stop, loud, soft, go, stop). The computer and the MIDI keyboard talk to each other to recreate a performance
Why MIDI instead of Audio?
We can EDIT MIDI (you can't edit audio). Edit MIDI to have whatever sound we want if we do it through MIDI like a synthesiser.
Its really easy to visualise MIDI and turn it into notation for your class.
MIDI keyboards can connect easily with iPads and computers with the usb converter cords etc (if you want to get one check with James!!!)
You can also use a power box thing that plugs into the keyboard to plug in microphones to increase the sound quality of recordings
What the heck is a DAW or Sequencer?
A program that makes music (garage band soundtrap etc)
I wrote my own remix in my own time! Here it is! (please NOTE: I am VERY proud of this little achievement. At the start of the day I thought I was completely technologically illiterate but I'm getting there!
