18/3/20 Let's ZOoOo0m!
First week with online ZOOMING. Let's do it!

Learning how to use Musescore
- can use notation via note entry and then pressing the names of the notes on your keyboard
- Press S to slur over notes
- Add dynamics and tempo marks etc from View and Palette
Educational Implications
- I love this application as its free and allows students to notate music even if you don't have a lot of money to spend in your faculty
- It can be shared easily if you make an account.
- You might have a template and then have them download it an rearrange or compose from the material you've provided (so cool!)
- You can easily make an inbuilt screen shot which has a higher resolution than a screenshot (Camera Icon to highlight and copy on MuseScore and Alt G, copy and paste for Sibelius)
You Can Also Share MP3 and XML file
An XML file can be saved and then imported from Sibelius to Musescore without any layout issues.
Note Flight and Flat Score are also good because they are inbuilt web browsers that can be accessed with just the internet. Flat can be used to write a piece collaboratively
Marketplace on NoteFlight provides original copyright material that you can make arrangements from. Here you can pay for it and then arrange it, then SELL IT. You now have a copyrighted piece of music that you can perform everywhere!

This is REVOLUTIONARY

Sibelius 5 Tips and Tricks
- Click: File, Panel, Ideas. This will allow you to input pre-made loops that you can listen to and incorporate into your score
- You can also capture an idea that you've made yourself and add it to your own SCORE ideas panel.
- You would be able to provide material or motifs for students to get started with a composition task. THIS IS AWESOME!
- You can edit each motif. CLICK: Inversion, Retrograde, Double, Halve and Transform ENDLESSLY
- This is the coolest thing. I was always a finale gal (sorry James) but now I have been fully converted to Sibelius (thanks to you, James)
Sibelius Export
- You can now export a VIDEO of your composition on Sibelius
- Click EXPORT and you will be able share it with your students and visa versa
- There are also WORK SHEETS that Sibelius provides. there are 1700 different sheets to use if you need to provide work when youre away from your class (LIFE HACK)
- Answers can also be provided so that another teacher can mark it
- There are a lot of different songs from different cultures which you can use (copyright free) in your lessons
